As a ALM- Associate Balance Sheet Analyst within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in Cleveland, OH or New York City, NY. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. As an ALM Associate in PNC’s Chief Investment Office, you will be responsible for the monthly valuation of several products on PNC’s balance sheet and the interest rate risk exposure resulting from those products. This will include ensuring proper capture of balance sheet data, understanding position change drivers, ensuring proper model setup and attribution of model changes. You will also be responsible for being able to produce the daily balance sheet analytics. Using independent judgement on methods, performs financial analysis, conducts research and prepares reports. Performs due diligence and statistical analysis related to the balance sheet. Participates in stress testing efforts. Based on own discretion, researches and collects information for PNC's balance sheet. Manages and performs defined procedures, analysis and report preparation for decision making tasks. Performs data aggregation and quality assurance to ensure timely and accurate management reporting. Prepares and aggregates data for modeling activities. Reconciles and performs quality review of data. Consult with lines of business in responding to various ALM requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, computer science, or similar.
  • Moderate experience with SQL and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business and risk stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage independent, time-sensitive deliverables.
  • University / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in ALM, balance sheet management, treasury, market risk, or interest rate risk.
  • Hands-on experience with Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) software and knowledge of QRM valuation, economic value of equity, duration of equity, net interest income, key-rate risk, balance sheet forecasting, analytics, reporting, and output structures.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, balance sheet products (loans, deposits, fixed-income securities, derivatives), and interest rate risk concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Own the liability categories on the balance sheet, including transaction deposits, time deposits, borrowings, and other liabilities.
  • Produce timely packages of deposit data and analytics.
  • Perform the daily balance sheet analytics process, ensure proper outputs and be able to communicate changes and escalate issues to senior managers.
  • Support the team with requests from market risk, model risk, audit, and external regulators for your areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain robust technical documentation, operating procedures, controls, and backup coverage for critical processes under your span of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with modeling team on model enhancements.
  • Identify and implement automation and AI-driven opportunities while maintaining appropriate controls, transparency, and production stability.
  • Performs financial analysis, conducts research and prepares reports.
