About The Position

Under the general supervision of the appropriate administrator, the Asset and Inventory Coordinator supports the university’s asset management, inventory control, surplus property, and property accountability functions. The position assists the asset management and inventory program by providing operational, clerical, inventory, surplus, recordkeeping, and customer-service support. The position maintains accurate records for capitalized and non-capitalized property, supports physical inventory processes, tracks asset movement and custody changes, assists with property disposition and surplus reutilization, and promotes compliance with university, CSU, state, auxiliary and federal property control requirements. The position serves as a campus resource for departments regarding asset tagging, inventory procedures, property transfers, surplus processing, missing or stolen property reporting, and appropriate stewardship of university-owned equipment. The incumbent is expected to maintain strong internal controls, provide responsive customer service, and use asset management systems and related technologies to support accurate, timely, and auditable property records.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience inventorying and maintaining control records for a wide variety of property and equipment or expendable storekeeping items.
  • Maintain a valid California Driver's License.
  • Completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Driver's Training course.
  • Forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating or leading physical inventory audits or large-scale asset tracking efforts
  • Working knowledge of asset management systems
  • Experience with financial reconciliation
  • Familiarity with inventory control practices, audit processes, and internal controls
