About The Position

The Pennsylvania State University’s College of Information Sciences and Technology is seeking applicants for a part-time assessment position with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies. The mission of the ADUS Office is to support teaching, learning, and curriculum across the College’s programs. The Office has broad responsibility for planning, administration, and evaluation of teaching, learning support programs, and academic program assessment, spanning residential and online delivery. The range of assessment projects supported by the office includes evaluation of College-wide learning initiatives (such as the First-Year Experience course), preparation of the College’s annual Senior Reports for each undergraduate major, measurement of learning outcomes for targeted courses, development of new Senior Exit Surveys for new majors, and assistance with the College’s curriculum assessment program.

Requirements

  • Graduate work in educational measurement or another relevant discipline.
  • Ability to create reliable survey and test items.
  • Ability to analyze learning outcomes data using the appropriate statistical methodology.
  • Effective work processes for collaborating with faculty and other researchers.
  • Proficient knowledge of SPSS and/or R.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing learning surveys for annual program assessment.
  • Analyzing and reporting assessment data.
  • Assisting faculty committees with data-driven course redesign initiatives linked to annual assessment.
