About The Position

The Assessment Technology Specialist ensures the effective operation and integration of assessment technology systems, supports data reporting and visualization efforts, and maintains the IRA website to provide timely and accurate resources for the university community. This position supports the Director and Associate Director in all aspects of assessment and survey-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in managing and administering assessment technology platforms (e.g., Watermark Insights, Qualtrics).
  • Strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and visualization using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of assessment and survey methodologies in a higher education context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support users at various skill levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and contribute to team goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., data analytics, information systems, education) required.
  • At least two years of experience working with technology platforms in a higher education or related setting.
  • Experience in data reporting, analysis, and visualization.
  • Familiarity with web content management systems and website maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with assessment software such as Watermark Insights (Taskstream, Aqua, etc.) and survey tools like Qualtrics.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, or similar programming languages for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of higher education accreditation and assessment processes.
  • Experience in user training and support for technology systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for assessment technology platforms, including the Watermark Insights suite, Qualtrics, and other assessment tools.
  • Manage system configuration, user access, and data integration to ensure seamless operation and usability of assessment technologies.
  • Provide technical support and training to faculty, staff, and administrators on the effective use of assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director to produce data reports and dashboards that support institutional assessment and accreditation efforts.
  • Use BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create visualizations and analytics that communicate assessment results and trends effectively.
  • Assist with survey data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making and improve institutional performance.
  • Maintain and update content on the IRA website to ensure accurate, accessible, and user-friendly resources for the campus community.
  • Collaborate with the IRA team to develop online resources, guides, and tools that support assessment and survey initiatives.
  • Monitor website analytics to enhance content delivery and user engagement.
  • Assist the Director and Associate Director in managing university-wide assessment processes and survey initiatives, including course evaluations.
  • Support data collection, validation, and analysis for institutional assessments and surveys.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and workshops related to assessment and technology use.
