The Assessment Specialist (CASAC) interviews clients referred by New York City’s HRA, applying clinical judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and levels of care. CASACs work with a variety of clients and interact with treatment providers daily. CASACs link individuals to chemical dependency treatment and harm reduction programs and also review progress to assist clients in recovery, leading to self-sufficiency. This role offers an excellent work/life balance with a predictable 35-hour work-week, and no caseloads or treatment plans.
