Assessment Coordinator MSW
About The Position
Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services, part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, has been providing hope for individuals suffering from emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as alcohol and substance use disorders since 1991. This 62-bed facility, accredited by The Joint Commission, offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services delivered by a multidisciplinary team. Aiken Regional Medical Centers is a 273-bed acute care facility that has been recognized for its quality healthcare services. The Admissions Clinician is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, collaborating with psychiatrists on the level of care, facilitating admissions and referrals, performing pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and building relationships with referral sources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for accurate care coordination.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Counseling or Behavioral Health (Counseling, Social Work, Sociology or Psychology) or relatable field with relevant experience in intake and admissions.
- Minimum one year experience in mental health setting performing assessments.
Nice To Haves
- State License preferred (LISW, LMSW, LPC, etc.)
- Registered Nurses (RNs) encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Conducting mental health assessments
- Communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed
- Facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agencies and treatment centers
- Conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews
- Fostering positive relationships with all referral sources
- Addressing needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance
- Performing level of care mental health assessments
- Documenting in the electronic medical record
- Coordinating patient care with internal and external providers
- Maintaining department records/statistics
- Complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed
- Participate in patient safety activities
- Other duties as assigned
