About The Position

The Assessment Coordinator, Behavioral Health is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday. This role is vital in assessing walk-in and phone callers to determine appropriate services or referrals and scheduling initial psychiatric assessments for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or emotional disorders. The coordinator will answer inquiry calls regarding treatment and facility services, present treatment options, document calls, and set appointments. They will collaborate with business office staff for admissions, refer patients to other treatment sources when appropriate, and provide clerical support to the Care Coordination Manager and team, including data entry into the electronic record system. Additionally, the role involves maintaining supplies for the Care Coordination Department, checking in patient belongings, processing consent forms, and coordinating admission paperwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills required.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • De-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.
