About The Position

Palm Point Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital located in Titusville, Florida. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children, and adolescents suffering from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point Behavioral Health offers inpatient treatment options and serves communities in Brevard County and beyond. Requirements

  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field preferred.
  • Communication and Team work
  • Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of Palm Point Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process for both Inpatient and Outpatient Services.
  • Handle inquiry calls efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate with referral sources.
  • Provide hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals.
  • Make outside referrals when appropriate.
  • Assess and triage an individual’s mental health status.
  • Make patient safety and level of care recommendations to the PPBH physician.
  • Identify insurance benefits and pre-certify patient care.
  • Complete all admission requirements.
  • Communicate patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff.
  • Document all necessary information in Med Series 4.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries.
  • Know PPBH programs and be able to answer general program information.
  • Determine initial clinical and financial eligibility.
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluation on each assigned admission and gather data.
  • Coordinate with the treatment team, family, and patients.
