About The Position

Denver Springs is hiring a PRN Assessment Clinician at its Englewood facility. The clinician responds to inquiries, assesses patients seeking care for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders, and coordinates appropriate care with the clinical team, on-call physician, or community providers. The role also supports patients and families in understanding treatment and completes admission and insurance precertification processes when needed.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work or counseling.
Current state licensure.
Strong clinical assessment skills.
CPR and CPI certification within 30 days.
Ability to meet typing and keyboard expectations.
May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Nice To Haves

Independent licensure is highly preferred.
Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive inquiry calls and help callers schedule a face-to-face assessment or connect them with an appropriate community referral.
Assess patients presenting for assessment, or ensure assessment is performed by a qualified mental health professional.
Screen for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders.
Coordinate with the clinical team and on-call physician to address patient needs at the facility or through appropriate community providers.
Explain treatment to patients and families to help reduce fear and other barriers to accepting and continuing care.
Complete admission administration and precertification of care with external payers as necessary.
With proper credentials, complete patient vital-sign checks when required.
