About The Position

This position is responsible for prioritizing, organizing, assembling, packing, moving, staging, and processing material within the packing department with regard to efficiency, quality, and safety.   • Perform all tasks while standing or moving about on foot for the entire work shift.
  • Bend the body down, resting on one or both knees to retrieve or place packed or unpacked boxes.
  • Push cart of up to 150 pounds across packing/shipping area.
  • Push packed box through binder.
  • Pull 6' lengths of rolled wrapping paper.
  • Carry, push, pull, raise, and lower objects up to 30 pounds, up to 50 feet.
  • Carry boxed and unboxed extrusions up to 6' in length a distance of 4' to 25'.
  • Periodically carry boxed and unboxed 12' lengths of curved extrusions.
  • Pick, pinch, pull, fold, staple, handle, and manipulate small and large objects primarily with fingers and hands for the majority of the workday.
  • Perform repetitive actions in wrists and hands.
  • Use of near, mid-range, and far vision with clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less.
  • Ability to judge distance and space relationships and see objects where and as they are.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to observe up and down and to the right and left.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize customer orders based on delegation, due date, or product availability.
  • Organize workload by checking for accuracy in quantity, color, size, job paperwork, and accessories.
  • Determine proper assembly requirements, including issuing correct parts, checking sizes, item compatibility, and quality.
  • Refer to bulletins and diagrams for assembly instructions.
  • Determine and audit inventory status of items in assembly area workstations.
  • Correctly assemble all items according to job paperwork and assembly instructions.
  • Locate material from department and/or crib.
  • Issue and close jobs in the system.
  • Assemble product according to company guidelines.
  • Stage completed assemblies for appropriate packaging stations and inform packing workstations of assembly availability.
  • Pack material for final shipment.
  • Lift material from cart or tree location to workstation.
  • Fill out appropriate paperwork associated with shipping orders.
  • Turn in paperwork for further processing.
  • Restock assembly and/or short pack workstations.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Move carts.
  • Clean and organize assembly workstations.
  • Complete tasks delegated by supervisor.
