About The Position

This position is for an Assembly Utility Operator Trainee responsible for operating and running assigned machines, workstations, and assembly operations on the production floor. The role involves understanding and following work instructions, performing light maintenance, setting up workstations, and proactively improving efficiency and productivity. The trainee will also be responsible for accurate inventory transactions, understanding quality criteria, identifying quality concerns and defects, suggesting process improvements, using correct materials and equipment, proper product identification and labeling, rework, and maintaining a clean work environment. The position also requires adherence to company quality policy and safety rules.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills (ability to count).
  • Ability to verbally communicate with others on many different levels within the organization.
  • Forklift Operator certification or trainability.
  • Job specific training.
  • Ability to find information on the production document to pull materials.
  • Organization of material locations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and run assigned machines, workstations, and/or assembly operations on the production floor as noted on the production document after training and supervision.
  • Understand written and verbal work instructions, including proper machine operation and performing light maintenance on equipment.
  • Set up all workstations.
  • Proactively increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform accurate inventory transactions.
  • Understand quality criteria and identify quality concerns, including familiarization with common visual defects and identifying process problems.
  • Suggest quality and process improvements.
  • Use correct materials, equipment, and gauging.
  • Properly identify and label product.
  • Perform rework when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean working environment and workstation.
  • Understand company quality policy and general safety rules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
