About The Position

Gestamp is seeking an experienced Assembly Tooling Manager to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of tooling, automation, and manufacturing systems that support vehicle production. In this leadership role, the manager oversees tooling, robotics, and manufacturing engineering professionals and drives innovation in assembly processes, automation, ergonomics, quality, and operational excellence. The position supports new vehicle program launches and helps ensure manufacturing systems remain world-class.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of tooling, manufacturing engineering, or assembly operations experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong background in tooling design, automation, robotics, and assembly manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, GD&T, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in automotive manufacturing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of assembly tooling, fixtures, jigs, and automation systems.
• Manage teams of Methodics Engineers, Robotics Engineers, and technicians.
• Drive advanced manufacturing initiatives, including robotics, vision systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Support new product launches by ensuring tooling and automation systems are ready for production.
• Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and suppliers to improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
• Lead tooling-related capital projects, budgets, timelines, and supplier relationships.
