About The Position

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling main distribution frames according to technical specifications and engineering drawings. This includes installing and terminating copper and fiber optic cables on distribution blocks, mounting and securing various components, and performing continuity testing and basic troubleshooting. The role also involves labeling equipment, maintaining accurate assembly documentation, and adhering to quality control records and safety protocols. The technician will coordinate with project managers and engineering teams on assembly requirements and work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or related field
  • Industry certifications (BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or similar)
  • Experience with specific MDF manufacturers (e.g., Siemon, CommScope, Panduit)
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and data center environments
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Professional certification may be required in some areas

Responsibilities

  • Assemble main distribution frames according to technical specifications and engineering drawings
  • Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cables on distribution blocks
  • Mount and secure distribution blocks, cable management systems, and protective devices
  • Perform continuity testing and basic troubleshooting of assembled frames
  • Label cables and equipment according to company standards
  • Maintain accurate assembly documentation and quality control records
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams on assembly requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
