At ACE Thermal Systems, we design, engineer, manufacture, and support high-performance environmental control systems (ECS) and components for extreme temperature and operating conditions and reliable everyday use in aircraft. We are committed to fostering a dynamic, collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and innovation. Position Summary: The Assembly Technician is the heart of the business. Your role is essential to getting critical aircraft off the ground. You will assemble aircraft environmental control motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies for mission critical aircraft, including medical and police support. You’ll use hand tools , operate equipment, such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, and more, to assembly units, and perform in-process inspections.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2 years minimum of relevant experience in a repair/manufacturing/production environment building or repairing parts.
  • Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc. for part assembly.
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, etc. is required.
  • The ability to read, and interpret English documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and reports, drawings and schematics is required.
  • Able to work on-site in our Thornton, CO facility 5 days a week, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A&P Certification completion may be used in lieu of experience.
  • A&P Certification preferred; experience with ISO or AS9100 procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work on motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies.
  • Ensures correct work order and clocked time is properly tracked.
  • Verify the warehouse pull contains the right parts at the right quantity and raise the flag to cell lead or management if there are issues.
  • Check the revision of the drawings to ensure the part is produced to the right revision.
  • Cross reference the Bill of Materials from the Print and Pick Ticket to ensure the units are assembled correctly using the correct parts.
  • Read and interpret all engineering drawings and EPS/PPP documents.
  • Gather tools and verify that they are calibrated and in good condition prior to starting the work, replace tools that are not compliant.
  • Assemble the product per the print and released procedures to ensure a quality product.
  • Safely operate all equipment such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, etc.
  • Route to Quality or perform in-process inspection per the procedure.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements, escalate to senior Assembler or leadership for difficult issues.
  • Perform tests per the test procedure and record results.
  • If the test fails, troubleshoot the issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements, escalate to senior Assembler or leadership for difficult issues.
  • Perform foreign object detection (FOD) activities to minimize any potential risks.
  • Comply with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage.
  • Identify process improvements with the goal of increasing efficiency and elevate to leadership.
  • Clean, sweep, remove trash and set workstation to ensure tools are in their proper location and the area is clean for the next job.
  • Identify safety, quality, delivery cost issues and report to management.
