PW800 Assembly Technician (4th Shift)(Onsite)
About The Position
This assembler position will allow you to apply your skills while impacting the future of flight. You will be responsible for a key role in our process and ensure EH&S and quality standards are kept. Responsibilities would be in one or more of the following areas: sub-assembly, balancing, main assembly and packing of engines in the repair and overhaul area. This position services our PW800 line, which is the newest engine model in our facility. You will work on our 4th shift, which is Friday-Sunday from 5am-5pm. Training may take place on another shift for up to 6 months before moving into 4th shift. Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
Requirements
- Active Powerplant license at the time of hire
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years specialized training in aviation maintenance, assembly or test of gas turbine engines or similar aircraft systems.
- Prior experience working on P&W engines.
- Knowledge of aircraft engine assembly procedures including fits and tolerances, use of precision measuring instruments and gauges, hand tools, special assembly equipment and the ability to work from complicated drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Work from manuals, service bulletins and other technical instructions.
- Use various hand tools, precision measuring equipment, special tooling and gauges.
- Coordinate parts, consumables and non-product material movements.
- Function as an Assembly tech to ensure standard work and standard methodologies are accomplished while assuring daily targets are met.
- Be fully engaged to support all Continuous Improvement, Quality, EH&S, and overall Operations initiatives and policies to meet company goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and refer team challenges to Supervisor.
