About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with over 7,500 employees, specializing in market-driven solutions for illumination, optical, detection, and imaging needs across various sectors including biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense, and aerospace. The Mississauga, Ontario facility, operating since 1984, focuses on LED and Lamp technology and serves markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing. This facility is an FDA registered Contract Medical Device Manufacturer. We are currently looking for an Assembly Technician II to perform tasks related to the assembly of optical, mechanical, and electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems.

Requirements

  • At least 1 to 2 years of electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work Afternoon shift from 2pm-10:30pm Monday thru Friday.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset.
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to learn new processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tasks with limited supervision and only requires supervision on newly assigned tasks.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as mechanical assembly, soldering, encapsulating, die bonding, wire bonding, cleaning, epoxy, curing, operation of pneumatic machinery, etc.
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases or other packing material.
  • May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.
  • Performs inline testing, inspection using measuring instruments, software, fixtures, and electrical test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards.
  • Ability to cross train on other programs in the facility.
  • Ability to perform various repair/rework operations using approved written procedures.
  • Follow instructions from electronic or printed assembly processes or electronic test procedures.
  • Ability to perform any other job-related task assigned by your supervisor/manager.
