About The Position
Mactech is an industry leader in specialty machining, industrial equipment, and custom-engineered solutions used across manufacturing, power generation, shipbuilding, offshore, and heavy industry. We are looking for a motivated Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Red Wing, Minnesota. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems while contributing to products used around the world.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Valid Driver's License or government-issued ID
- Ability to pass background screening, drug testing, and fit-for-duty requirements

- Manufacturing or assembly experience
- Carpentry or woodworking experience
- Mechanical assembly experience
- Hydraulics experience
- Electrical wiring experience
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with hydraulic schematics
- Experience with electrical schematics
- Control panel assembly experience
- Low-voltage wiring (12V/24V) experience
- Experience with multimeters, voltmeters, and electrical testing equipment
Responsibilities
- Build custom wood crates, pallets, skids, and shipping containers for industrial equipment
- Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components into new products
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools
- Perform quality inspections and functional testing on equipment
- Diagnose defects and assist with repairs and adjustments
- Support rental equipment maintenance and refurbishment
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Field Service teams
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
- Perform other duties as needed to support operations
