About The Position

As a Weld Machine Production Group Leader, you will oversee daily weld machine production activities, support and train team members, coordinate staffing and job setups, and help keep work running safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This hands-on leadership role reports to the Production Supervisor and Manager. You'll lead daily weld machine operations, help employees succeed, and keep production moving safely and efficiently. Oversee daily operations for the weld machine group and competently run all department jobs. Coordinate associate assignments and schedules to meet production needs. Assist with job setups and train operators to set up, run, and inspect jobs correctly. Troubleshoot basic job and equipment issues and support associates with daily production problems. Maintain strong part quality; inspect to the Process Quality Control Table (PQCT/checksheet) and coach operators on required checks. Verify required processes and safety devices are followed, checked, and adjusted correctly. Maintain weld machine setup sheets and ensure work-center logs, PQCTs, layered audits, and other records are completed on time. Communicate daily priorities and issues with Quality, Scheduling, the Production Supervisor, and the Manager. Participate in shift-change, gain-share, and department problem-solving meetings. Oversee containment and the department hold area; ensure correct containers, tags, sorting, and rework procedures are used. Review efficiency reports, identify causes of performance issues, and escalate concerns appropriately. Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas and lead the annual weld machine inventory team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, HSE, or GED required.
  • Ability to competently perform all duties of a Weld Machine Operator.
  • Working knowledge of weld machine operation, setups, safety devices, inspection, quality documentation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to train employees, coordinate work, communicate clearly, and address performance or production concerns professionally.
  • Ability to use Plex, email, computers, and a company-issued cell phone.
  • Put safety first and consistently reinforce required rules and PPE.
  • Take ownership of quality, productivity, attendance, and timely documentation.
  • Lead with enthusiasm, teamwork, honesty, integrity, character, and self-motivation.
