About The Position

The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for training, instructing, and supervising employees to produce a quality product safely and efficiently, meeting production demands. This role involves providing work assignments, procuring parts, communicating production needs, conducting quality and safety audits, and generating maintenance requests. The supervisor must maintain a safe working environment, meet company metrics (safety, quality, cost, delivery), and document production reports. They will compare actual performance to planned performance, take corrective actions, and utilize measurement tools to track key indices and identify trends. The role also requires meeting key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine Down Time, and Inventory Levels. Maintaining high employee morale through good relations, team building, and policy knowledge is crucial. The supervisor will also inform higher supervision of employee capabilities, proactively use Lean tools for improvement, and complete required systems work (Mapics, Kronos, Zone, etc.). Additional projects and duties may be assigned to support business needs.

Requirements

Good working knowledge of manufacturing assembly operations, safety protocols, and best practices.
Working knowledge of Lean, 5S, Six Sigma practices.
Knowledge of Production Daikin System and Flexible Manufacturing System (in-house training).
Effective leadership skills; able to envision, develop, direct, manage, delegate responsibility and authority, and motivate employees.
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Effective verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Effective problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to promote an environmentally healthy and safe work environment.
Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job.
5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
2+ years of experience in a leadership role.
High school diploma or GED.
PDS/FMS Certification – obtained through in-house training program.
People Management: Yes

Responsibilities

Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands.
Provide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees.
Perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requests.

Meet and/or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Document and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices.
Promote and enforce company policies, safety rules, and work instructions.
Compare actual performance with planned performance and take corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achieved.
Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, identify unfavorable trends, and take corrective action.
Meet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine Down Time, and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient manner.
Maintain high employee morale through good employee-management relations, team building, and thorough knowledge of policies where applicable.
Recognize and inform higher supervision of hourly employees' capabilities.
Proactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety results.
Complete required systems work: Mapics, Kronos, Zone, etc.
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
