About The Position

Perform functional equipment testing including: Functionality verification, validation, and testing; component troubleshooting; and replacing non-working components (screen, printer, circuit boards, SSRs, etc.) prior to final QC. Program controllers and load software. Perform final QC on all manufactured items and complete the appropriate documentation using established procedures. Record and analyze failures and participate in corrective action and process improvements. Ensure that all products that pass thru production meet established quality standards before leaving.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of Heatcon equipment assembly experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to assemble, visually inspect, and test electro-mechanical equipment; upload software; and perform quality control functions including documentation.
  • Must have a working knowledge of electronics.
  • Ability to read schematics, read engineering drawings, utilize hand and soldering tools, and read a multi-meter.
  • Must understand bonder functionality, uses, and calibration.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, computer operating systems, and word processing programs and ability to type.
  • Proficiency with low-level computer systems (DOS), serial communications, and file transfer functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate information, one-on-one and in small groups, to other employees and management.
  • Ability to apply concepts of arithmetic.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to assimilate information from diverse sources to form a complete situational picture and develop a plan of action to accomplish the task.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and validate testing on assembled products and correct abnormal conditions.
  • Program process controllers and load software in equipment.
  • Inspect cables, hoses, thermocouples and other accessories in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complete verification and validation documentation as required on manufactured products.
  • Track, review, and communicate trends in component defects to Engineering and Quality, as appropriate. Complete PARs with Quality Manager, as necessary. Assist production leadership in identifying composite trends in assembly errors for continuous improvement.
  • Effective participation and company representation during quality audits, as necessary.
  • Perform assembly of electro-mechanical equipment (face plates, base plates, sub-assemblies, wiring, and circuitry) in accordance with provided documentation (schematics, pictures, and special instructions) and standard shop procedures, as necessary.
  • Perform final Quality Checks for all manufactured and assembled components.
  • Calibrate equipment to established procedures and ensure all documentation is accurate before sending to shipping and receiving.
  • Effectively communicate assembly errors to technicians in an effort to prevent future errors and communicate recurring errors to Production Manager or Lead.
  • Assist in training of assemblers and technicians, as necessary.
  • Maintain expected productivity and quality standards that make financial returns possible for the Company to continue to provide excellent service to our customers and job opportunities and career growth for our staff.
  • Communicate with department Managers effectively concerning Quality issues as required.
  • Review and suggest revisions to QC Work Instructions, Check lists and any other required documentation to ensure all products meet or exceed Heatcon’s high standards of product reliability.
  • Identify errors to Work Instructions, checklists and other official documents associated with the quality process and ensure changes are made and the Production Manager is notified.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation including work orders and time clock punches.
  • Document and account for all materials used and time expended.
  • Verify bill of materials to reflect actual parts used or configuration changes.
  • Initiate and process Non-conformance Reports (NCRs) parts and required documentation and submit to the appropriate department.
  • Perform and complete AS9102 formatted First Article Inspections
