About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and practices within the Assembly department, adhering to 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles. The lead will monitor team product quality, provide direction for adjustments, and support the training and development of assembly personnel. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of work instructions and storyboards, ensuring standard production rates are accurate, and completing periodic quality inspections of team members' work. The lead will also ensure the team stays on task, manages workflow by communicating with the manager about task completion and department needs, and ensures rejected materials are correctly labeled and processed. Additionally, the lead is responsible for maintaining 5S tool organization, understanding and following Job Travelers, verifying assembled prints against specifications, logging into assigned jobs, using correct part labels, proper packaging, assembling at or above standard rates, proper gaylord labeling, replenishing consumable supplies, accurate parts counting, ensuring complete and accurate paperwork, accurate data entry into the ERP system, maintaining a clean and organized work area, driving continual improvement, and identifying correct hand tool usage. Other tasks may be assigned by management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to gather information and share either verbally or in writing.
Able to communicate effectively with other employees, office personnel and management.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and communicate to supervisor if unable to solve.
Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to sit or stand while using limbs and requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and products.
Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Ensures all paperwork is complete, accurate, and turned in at the end of the shift.
Ensures information is entered into ERP system accurately.
Ensures area is clean and organized.
Drives continual improvement.
Identifies and understands correct hand tool use.
Other tasks as assigned by management.
