About The Position

The Work Cell Lead is responsible for driving operational performance within the work cell, including safety, quality, output, and team effectiveness. This role serves as the front-line leader of the cell and is expected to remain highly hands-on in daily production activities while owning overall cell results. The Work Cell Lead proactively identifies issues, implements solutions, and ensures the team consistently meets or exceeds performance expectations.

  • Functional leadership, including assigning work, directing day-to-day activities, supporting training, and reinforcing accountability for performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily work cell performance, including output, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Remain actively engaged in hands-on production work while balancing leadership responsibilities.
  • Monitor real-time performance and proactively adjust staffing, workflow, or priorities.
  • Ensure quality of all output and drive corrective actions for defects or trends.
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, and personnel issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Motivate and direct team members to meet production and quality expectations.
  • Ensure materials, staffing, and equipment are aligned to meet production demands.
  • Coordinate with logistics, maintenance, and leadership to resolve constraints.
  • Maintain 5S standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safety compliance and proactively address hazards.
  • Train and develop employees and support skill progression within the team.
  • Communicate work cell performance, issues, and priorities across shifts and leadership.
