About The Position

The Assembly QC Inspector will perform first article inspection for SMT, TH-Hole and mixed stuffed boards. This role ensures all instructions are read and followed, such as SOW (Statement of work), SAI (special assembly instructions), and PO. The inspector will perform inspections at In-coming, in-process, and final inspection stages. A key responsibility is to ensure that revisions on all documents (traveler, kit audit, etc.) match the customer BOM and drawing. The inspector will follow Aegis and I-View paperless systems to perform inspections and will request proper paperwork from engineers for any rework. They will fill out MRR for non-conforming material and submit it to the MRB’s team for disposition. The role requires understanding acceptance criteria based on IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and customer specifications to verify that assemblies meet customer requirements. Essential functions include performing detailed visual and workmanship inspections of printed circuit board assemblies, including SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology assemblies. This involves reading and interpreting assembly drawings, BOMs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Special Assembly Instructions (SAIs), customer specifications, and other manufacturing documentation. The inspector will use inspection tools, equipment, and applicable electronic systems to verify quality standards. They will identify, document, and communicate defects, discrepancies, and nonconforming material, and accurately complete and maintain required inspection records and documentation. Work must be performed in accordance with applicable IPC standards, internal procedures, ESD requirements, ITAR requirements, and other regulatory or customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Quality or Inspection for PCB Assembly.
  • Certification to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is required.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality procedures as it relates to ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and ISO Medical
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general SQL System(s)
  • Thorough knowledge of interpretation assembly drawings and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that assemblies meet customer requirements.

  • Identify, document, and communicate defects, discrepancies, and nonconforming material to appropriate Quality, Production, and Engineering personnel.
  • Accurately complete and maintain required inspection records, reports, and quality documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Perform work in accordance with applicable IPC standards, internal procedures, ESD requirements, ITAR requirements, and other regulatory or customer requirements.
