About The Position

Valeo is a global tech company focused on developing innovative mobility solutions. As an Assembly Process Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating advanced industrial engineering tasks related to design, process improvement, and manufacturing engineering. You will troubleshoot engineering issues during the assembly process, collaborate with various organizational units, and develop improvements for assembly processes, designs, and equipment. This role also involves creating and maintaining process documentation, devising new approaches to problems, and potentially supervising engineering staff. You will lead by example in areas of Quality, Productivity, Safety/Ergonomics, and Training, review production schedules, and organize problem-solving groups using quality tools like PFMEAs, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma. Additionally, you will support Customer Initial Sample submissions to ensure first-time acceptance of new Service Part Numbers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Process Engineer or similar in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge with PFMEAs, Six Sigma, and Poka-Yoke.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate advanced industrial engineering assignments related to design, process improvement, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Troubleshoot engineering issues that arise during the Assembly process, with the help of the Quality Engineer, to ensure quality components are manufactured.
  • Work with various organization units to review progress and evaluate results.
  • Develop and suggest changes in assembly processes, designs, and equipment when necessary.
  • Create and maintain process documentation.
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of Engineers, Technicians, Designers, and others who assist on specific assignments.
  • Provide leadership and act as a role model in the areas of Quality, Productivity, Safety/Ergonomics and Training.
  • Review weekly production schedules with the Master Scheduler.
  • Organize and animate Problem Solving Groups with all concerned functions and supplier representatives to analyze problems, find root causes, and define action plans using Problem Solving Quality Tools (PFMEAs, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma).
  • Fully support Customer Initial Sample submissions with correct documentation to ensure right first time acceptance for all new Service Part Numbers.
