About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking an Assembly & Packaging Operator - 2nd Shift at our Pinckneyville, IL facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 3:330 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $22.31 per hour, plus a $0.40 cent shift differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, or support team members on standard work practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy in order fulfillment.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to safety practices and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must have mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environment.
  • Prior experience with SAP transactions related to inventory movement and production confirmations.
  • Previous experience operating a handheld scanner and RF devices.
  • Prior forklift certification or prior experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Package, count, sort, and stage finished materials in accordance with work instructions, shop orders, and quality requirements.
  • Perform basic assembly tasks as needed and use simple mechanical devices or equipment safely and effectively.
  • Gather, move, and prepare materials for internal flow and outside processing.
  • Learn and perform required system transactions, including SAP material movements and confirmations.
  • Use handheld scanning equipment and related tools accurately.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, labels, and basic engineering drawings as required for the role.
  • Communicate effectively with production planning and other internal partners regarding order priorities, material status, and issues.
  • Identify and report order discrepancies, inventory concerns, quality issues, or process problems promptly.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, including a forklift, only when properly trained, authorized, and in compliance with safety requirements.
  • Support onboarding and cross-training of employees as assigned.
  • Perform the physical activities of the job, which may include standing, reaching, bending, and lifting materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Maintain housekeeping and workplace organization standards, including 5S expectations.
  • Follow all environmental, health, safety, quality, and company policies and procedures.
