Assembles components, loads, unloads, and operates Assembly machines within a fast-paced environment to produce world-class quality products. Requirements

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area in compliance with 5S.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to loading machines, unloading machines, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.
  • All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with the safety policies and procedures.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment required.
  • 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in fast paced industrial lean environment
  • Basic and advanced math skills: familiarity with ratios, proportions, geometry, and trigonometry is a plus
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability and willingness to be trained on and perform all assembly line operations within the BorgWarner Assembly manufacturing process.
  • Visually inspect and assemble small components to quality standards.
  • Use hand-held gages.
  • Work with automatic transmission fluid.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Assembly Operators will be expected to safely perform, as needed, all tasks assigned by the Team Lead/Coordinator including all positions within the Assembly department.
  • Safely operates all equipment in the Assembly department.
  • Reads and understands job aids/work instructions and/or follows oral instructions to execute the component flow requirements.
  • Manually loads, unloads, and/or maneuvers materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves on foot and by hand as required (see physical requirements).
  • Support 5S / Housekeeping activities as required.
  • Use appropriate hold tags to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure.
  • SAP entries and transactions required as needed.
  • Adherence to standard work procedures to assemble units in addition to development and continuous improvement to the standards.
  • Performs required work steps within required cycle time.
  • Wear all required PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
