About The Position

nVent is looking for entry level and skilled Assembly Operators on Weekend Shift to join our team. This role involves working individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions. The position requires completing work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions, and maintaining equipment and materials necessary for the operation. The role also involves meeting established safety, quality, and performance standards, recording accurate information, and complying with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Employees are expected to report adverse conditions and non-conforming products/procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. Active participation in continuous improvement activities is also expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Knowledge in use of scales, preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferred
  • Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints, preferred
  • Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product, preferred
  • Experience in using hand and power tools, preferred
  • Prior experience working in a light industrial facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
  • Completes work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
  • Selects and moves production materials as required.
  • Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Meets established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Records accurate information on Manufacturing Order and performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Complies with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Reports adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance to escalation procedure.
  • Adheres to department 5S standards daily. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
