About The Position

Openwork is hiring dependable and motivated Assembly Operators for a well-established global manufacturer in Northwest Houston, Texas. The client has more than 70 years of industry experience manufacturing wooden cable reels distributed worldwide. This hands-on, full-time, temp-to-hire role pays $17.00 per hour with weekly pay and potential for long-term employment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, on the first shift; occasional overtime, including Saturdays, may be available or needed. The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing and production environment and involves repetitive assembly tasks, extended standing, bending, and lifting. The position follows workplace safety procedures and requires the use of required PPE.

Requirements

1–2 years of manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse experience.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
Comfort with physically demanding work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending and lifting.
Availability to work occasional overtime, including Saturdays, as needed.

Responsibilities

Assemble pre-cut wooden components into finished cable reels.
Use hand tools and measuring devices to complete assembly work accurately.
Weigh, label, and tag finished products according to specifications.
Apply grease for waterproofing and product protection.
Inspect completed reels for defects and quality concerns.
Follow production instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
Assist with additional manufacturing, warehouse, and production duties as needed.
