About The Position

As a Assembly Operations Manager, you’ll be part of our Tools and Outdoor team working as an on-site employee. You’ll get to manage all plant operations relative to Assembly. Provide leadership and establish scope for ISO 9001 and Lean Manufacturing. Provide support and training to Managers and Supervisors to meet or exceed Plant Measurables. Utilize PFMEA, Value Stream Maps, Work Instructions, and Standard Work to review production processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency. Pilot Plant Coordinator (responsible for pilot builds / new product launches in this plant). Initiate and oversee Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders both at the plant level and Corporate level. Work with Corporate Engineering to design / redesign products that are reliable, assembly friendly, and utilizes fewer labor minutes. Work with other SBD Plants to ensure best practices and assembly methods Highlight concerns and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain production people count standards and report changes to accounting. Understand the safe operation of all equipment. Maintain quality, production, safety standards, and all ISO 9001 and Company procedures. Any other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business; or ten years Manager or Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and MAPICS).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Standards and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with people.
