Assembly Manufacturing Engineer

About The Position

Teledyne Imaging Sensors is seeking an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to execute and support development and manufacturing activities for focal plane array (FPA) assemblies. This hands-on role provides guidance and leadership while working alongside the FPA production team in a cleanroom. The role supports design, manufacturing, inspection, assembly, troubleshooting, equipment repair, hardware rework, and failure/root-cause analysis. Successful applicants must be U.S. citizens due to facility work and access restrictions.

Requirements

Five or more years of related experience as a manufacturing assembly engineer or in similar work such as precision alignment, mounting, thermal cycling, or CMM; alternatively, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and three or more years of relevant experience.
Thorough understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and optical measurements used in manufacturing.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills for communicating with TIS management and customers.
Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Demonstrated ethics and business practices, and ability to work well with people.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Lead and work with technical staff on the design, manufacturing, and technical guidance of focal plane assemblies.
Analyze designs for validity.
Conduct and oversee in-process inspections and compare results with specifications.
Assemble and manufacture assemblies.
Support manufacturing troubleshooting, equipment repair, and hardware rework.
Document and support failure and root-cause analyses for non-conformities.
Perform precision alignment, die attachment, and CMM measurements.
Follow work instructions and travelers for all assemblies.
Comply with company policies and procedures, particularly safety protocols.
