About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring an Assembly Line Inspector to perform detailed inspections of fabricated parts and in-process production, as well as audits of packaged, staged, and loaded shipments. The role helps ensure windows and doors meet company quality requirements, customer specifications, and workmanship standards before shipment. Inspectors document findings, communicate quality concerns, assist with investigating and resolving defects, and work with production and quality teams on corrective actions and continuous improvement. The position pays $22.00 per hour and works the first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as designated. The role involves regular walking and standing during a 10-hour shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in manufacturing areas that may have moving mechanical parts, hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and moderate noise. Required PPE and compliance with safety training, company rules, and OSHA regulations apply.

Requirements

Strong understanding of safety rules and precautions in manufacturing environments.
Ability to read and comprehend English documents, including policy manuals, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
Proficiency in general mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division.
Problem-solving ability in situations involving multiple variables.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagram-based work instructions.
Ability to regularly walk and stand, and to stand and lift up to 50 pounds during a 10-hour shift.
Ability to bend, stoop, handle objects with hands and fingers, reach, lift, climb, and/or balance for essential tasks.
Vision abilities including close-up and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and extreme temperatures, and tolerance for moderate noise.
Use required PPE when accessing manufacturing areas and perform tasks in accordance with safety training, the Employee Manual, and OSHA regulations.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform final inspections of finished windows and doors for compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and workmanship requirements.
Evaluate finished products for defects, damage, completeness, and overall acceptability before packaging and shipment.
Conduct quality checks using gauges, tape measures, and other testing equipment.
Audit packaged, staged, and loaded shipments for product accuracy, labeling, packaging, and shipment readiness.
Accurately and promptly document inspection results, test data, and quality records.
Monitor production output and communicate quality concerns to production and quality leadership.
Help identify, document, and resolve product quality issues and nonconforming materials.
Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to customer, product, or process quality concerns.
Verify adherence to manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
