About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems Manufacturing Platform Integration Facility (PIF) is seeking an Assembly, Integration and Test Technician to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 or more years of experience working in precision assembly and/or aerospace manufacturing assembly.
  • Skillful knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and assembling structures with the ability to learn the integration of large structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering documents, and assembly instructions.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP/shop floor systems.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be adept with hand tools including drills, grinders, wrenches and screwdrivers, impact rivet guns, rivet puller.
  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and structural assembly of aerospace components per work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment to assemble, fit, and install parts and components.
  • Conduct inspections of in-process and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare and apply surface coatings (e.g., primers, sealants, bonding agents) according to engineering documentation and process specifications (preferred).
