•$146,000 - $194,000•Onsite

About The Position

Anduril’s Space Manufacturing team is seeking an Assembly Integration and Test Engineer to support assembly, integration, and testing of ground support equipment, PCBAs, unit-level hardware, and integrated systems used in aerospace and defense operations. The role calls for holistic ownership of technical challenges and creative physical solutions, including personally manufacturing or overseeing the manufacture of solutions in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. The engineer leads and participates in system integration and test campaigns, develops test plans and procedures, coordinates schedules and resource needs, and leads test readiness reviews for flight hardware. The role also participates in manufacturing readiness reviews and develops, documents, and improves processes for manufacturing, assembling, and integrating PCBAs, box-level assemblies, and space vehicles to meet space-grade standards. Work includes hands-on hardware and software testing, root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances and anomalies, and specifying, procuring, and maintaining assembly tools, fixtures, and equipment. This is an on-site role in Costa Mesa, California, working in cleanrooms and around sensitive flight hardware, with travel up to 15% to test and supplier sites. The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in aerospace, aviation, military, or another high-reliability industry, including at least 2 years of hands-on integration and test of flight or comparably high-reliability hardware.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • Cross-disciplinary working understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering, including interpreting mechanical drawings and GD&T and electrical schematics, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical/electronic systems, and working with design engineers on DFM/DFA challenges.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in unit-level, space-vehicle, or system integration, assembly, and environmental testing, with direct involvement in at least two of vibration, thermal vacuum, acoustic, shock, or EMI/EMC testing.
  • Hands-on integration or test experience with EO/IR or comparable sensor and payload systems in at least one area; experience in multiple areas such as EO/IR, RF/communications, or optical instruments is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of practical, hands-on experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, and DAQs.
  • At least 2 years working with MES, ERP, and/or MRP, including hands-on use of at least one as a system of record in production.
  • At least 2 years applying manufacturing process controls, quality assurance, and continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Willingness to work on-site full-time in Costa Mesa, California, in cleanrooms and around sensitive flight hardware, and to travel up to 15% to test and supplier sites.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across at least three cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, hardware/design, program management, and test.
  • Proven attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Support of at least one full spacecraft integration-and-test campaign, including subsystem-level tests and full system-level tests.
  • At least 2 years working on satellite systems, spacecraft, launch vehicles, or related technologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD or 3D-modeling software for tooling design.
  • Experience working in an ISO 7 or cleaner cleanroom, or another contamination-controlled environment.
  • Experience assembling electro-optical instruments.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, NX design, and Python.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in system integration and test campaigns; develop test plans, procedures, and schedules; and coordinate resource, test-equipment, and test-facility needs.
  • Lead test readiness reviews (TRRs) for flight hardware.
  • Participate in manufacturing readiness reviews (MRRs) for flight hardware.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing, assembly, and integration processes for PCBAs, box-level assemblies, and space vehicles, ensuring compliance with space-grade standards.
  • Perform hands-on hardware and software testing at unit and system levels.
  • Conduct detailed root cause analyses and drive corrective actions for non-conformances and anomalies identified during integration and test.
  • Specify, procure, and maintain assembly tools, fixtures, and equipment required for integration and test.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, hardware teams, program management, and test teams to manage priorities and resolve technical challenges.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
