About The Position

This role in summary Whirlpool is currently seeking qualfied candidates for an Industrial Engineer. This is an onsite role at our Marion, Ohio location. The Industrial Engineer will play a key leadership role in driving productivity, optimizing manufacturing processes, and supporting cost accuracy across the organization. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining production standards, supporting level planning, and ensuring that costing routers accurately reflect true labor and process requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of motion economy and its relationship to work elements, enabling efficient, ergonomic, and repeatable work methods across all operations. Relocation available for eligilble candidates Company is not providing Visa Sponsorship for this role

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing plant
  • Strong data analytical skills
  • Thorough understanding of Lean manufacturing, with an emphasis on Value Streams and Standardized work, WCM experience, specifically Workplace Organization and Focus Improvement preferred, EEM experience a plus
  • SAP and costing (routers, deletion factors) experience
  • Well-developed communications, project management, coaching, interpersonal, and team building skills
  • Resourceful in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks with minimal supervision, yet seeks guidance when appropriate
  • Skills to research and understand the root cause of product and process problems and drive improvement based on analysis. Working knowledge of Google, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide ways/methods to eliminate all types of waste/losses in the production process
  • Drive continuous improvement though detailed analytics using WCM methodology
  • Develop a project pipeline for cost takeout/loss removal including working closely with finance department to validate potential savings
  • Lead time studies utilizing Modapts, a predetermined time analysis
  • Identify Non-value add, Unbalanced, Value Add, and Semi Value Add activities
  • Support WCM implementation by providing leadership to continuous improvement teams
  • Support scoping of cost projects within the Marion facility
  • Ensure all new models/parts efficiently integrated into operations
  • Develop and maintain equipment capacity information and planning
  • Own all costing, routers, line balances, and labor utilization for projects
  • Support level loading across workstations and departments to balance production flow and capacity
