About The Position

Anchor Fabrication is seeking an Assembly/General Laborer for their Kansas location. This role involves reading and understanding work orders, blueprints, and specifications to prepare and assemble parts for shipment. The position requires attention to detail in measuring, marking, and verifying dimensions, as well as calculating measurements for machine setup and quality control. The laborer will also be responsible for packaging, loading, and unloading materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe work area. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory. This role may also involve assisting with other tasks as assigned by a supervisor to meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate hand tools.
  • Demonstrate a productive and non-disruptive work ethic.
  • Work to create limited scrap or rework and continually improve quality.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Be able to provide all the proper tools and equipment as specified to fulfill basic job requirements.
  • High school education or the equivalent.
  • Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure.
  • Ability to read blueprints with knowledge of welding symbols.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand work orders, blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Study sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces and determine setup requirements by prioritizing steps and collecting material.
  • Measure, mark, and verify dimensions on parts and materials before and after processing.
  • Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments to documented specifications.
  • Calculate measurements for machine setup, part counts, time tickets, and quality checks.
  • Assemble parts and package them for shipment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading machines when production requires.
  • Lift raw materials/final products and stack, band, and palletize items for shipment, manually or using a hoist.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the work area is always clean and safe.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and practice safety precautions.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
