About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Assembly and Test Inspector for their MRO Commercial Engine Center. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and accuracy of engine assembly and components. The inspector will perform detailed inspections, interpret technical data, and make critical decisions regarding material acceptance or rejection. This position offers the opportunity to learn skills, systems, and processes vital to aerospace manufacturing within a state-of-the-art facility, including training on interpretation and application of technical data for engine disassembly and assembly, and operation of forklifts, scissor lifts, and other powered industrial vehicles (PIVs).

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • 2 years formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P License
  • Experience working from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures, and instructions to fabricate, configure, install, remove/replace and set up a variety of power systems, components, modules, and associated equipment
  • Experience working with Solumina, SFWF, or similar programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional checks on engine assembly and components using a wide variety of power and mechanical tools.
  • Conduct Dimensional and Visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques, which may include surface plate work or standard measuring techniques.
  • Verify accuracy of parts, tools, gages, or other equipment.
  • Accept or reject material based on inspection findings.
  • Work from applicable written inspection procedures and engineering drawings, along with other pertinent instructions, to plan and perform inspections.
  • Accept or refer material for rework or quality review based on findings.
  • Utilize a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines.
  • Program instructions for checking dimensions and record results.
  • Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine the extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verifications of dimensions and ensure operation sheets are being followed.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of the job description, to support department objectives and develop individual skills.
