About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. The Assembler position consists of documentation, assembly, electrical test, machine test and inspection. Each assembler may be required to work on any single phase of operations at a given time.

Requirements

• Possess a High School Diploma
• Have experience in a manufacturing environment
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Have good organizational skills
• Good manual dexterity and visual acuity

Nice To Haves

• Experience with computer data entry (an asset)
• Bilingualism (French and English) an asset

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and preparation of parts by simple chemical cleaning procedures
• Mounting of product with epoxy and solder
• Mounting of other components, e.g. hybrid sub-assemblies, with epoxy and solder
• Hand marking of devices
• Test components and assemblies once finished
• Sub-assembly fabrication to be used on final product
• Fibre optic attachment
• The assembler may need to use the SAP system to make certain transactions
• The assembler may assist the Team Leader in the training of new employees
• Performing other related duties as required
