About The Position

The Assembler is responsible for electro-mechanical and optical assembly, PCBA programming, testing, and calibration of medical devices. This role also performs troubleshooting and rework on assemblies and systems to address failures and nonconformances. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position works on-site in Brisbane, CA and is a temporary 6-month contract with potential to convert full-time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in production assembly or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and experience with electro-mechanical components; basic soldering skills required.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and unit conversions (metric and standard).
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and production timelines.
  • Effective organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use hands to handle small components with precision.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience working with optics or laser-based technologies, preferably within the medical device industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical and optical assembly, inspection, testing, and packaging of medical devices in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Execute PCBA programming, system testing, and calibration activities according to defined procedures.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and rework on assemblies and systems to resolve failures and nonconformances.
  • Accurately complete and maintain production records and documentation.
  • Measure, count, and verify materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and departmental SOPs.
  • Identify and report production issues, risks, or inefficiencies to supervisors or engineering teams.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Complete assigned tasks within established timelines and production schedules.
  • Monitor equipment performance and support maintenance and calibration activities as needed.
  • Utilize ERP systems and internal databases to transact materials, review drawings, and access bills of materials.
  • Train and support other team members on certified processes and procedures.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, work instructions, and verbal direction.
  • Recognize production or quality issues and communicate potential solutions effectively.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
