Assembler - 2nd Shift

About The Position

The Trim/Assembly role produces various products in accordance with efficiency and quality standards. The position involves preparing for jobs, trimming products using designated methods, inspecting products, and completing assembly-related work and assigned projects by their due dates. The role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires working in hot, humid, and loud conditions around ovens, rotating tools, forklifts, and other moving machinery. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Pay is $20.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift premium. The employer is Ameri-Kart, a Myers Industries Company.

Ability to use hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read a tape measure and calipers.
Ability to work in a hot, humid environment for extended periods.
Ability to remain stationary with intermittent walking throughout the shift.
Ability to frequently lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and parts weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance, and transport them up to 20 feet.
Ability to frequently position oneself to maneuver around parts, materials, and molds.
Ability to operate hand tools and write legibly.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the necessary information and tools are available before starting each job.
Retrieve and review work instructions before beginning a job.
Bundle products properly after trimming and move them to the required staging location.
Complete assigned projects by their due dates.
Review production priorities.
Meet or exceed training requirements, including quality standards, and attend scheduled shift meetings and other required meetings.
Meet or exceed production targets.
Produce trimmed products using the methods designated for each job, including hand and power tools.
Inspect products for conformance to quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
