About The Position

The Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts into relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. The role fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Work is performed according to defined procedures and instructions, is closely supervised, and focuses on routine, well-defined tasks and day-to-day objectives.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experienced use of hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Study assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather the required parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements, examine connections for correct fit, fasten components, and measure completed components to verify specifications.
• Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notify a supervisor when additional resources are needed.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations; complete production and quality documentation.
• Monitor supplies inventory, anticipate supply needs, place and expedite orders, and verify receipt of supplies.
