About The Position

Summary/Objective The Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing processes to convert raw materials into finished products including soldering, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring, wire stripping, cutting, laminating, bonding, baking, crimping, etc. The Assembler follows directions from lead people and supervisors, follows bluebird instructions and general best practices to manufacture high quality products, to specification and on-time. Requirements

  • Must have previous manufacturing experience.
  • Basic Math knowledge.
  • Must have experience with and have the ability to execute all required steps of the build process including soldering, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring, wire stripping, cutting, laminating, bonding, baking, crimping, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand all written work instructions (bluebird).
  • Verify kitted raw materials (quantity and proper items).
  • Follow direction from Lead Operator / Supervisor.
  • Learn and execute all required steps of the build process including soldering, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring, wire stripping, cutting, laminating, bonding, baking, crimping, etc.
  • Maintain proper identification / labeling of parts through all process steps.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments such as Marking and QC.
  • Follow all company policies and all safety guidelines.
  • Determine the difference of a good/bad heater, circuit, and wire wound panel.
  • Inspect his or her own work to make sure it is acceptable to the requirements and description of the product. Average eyesight is necessary.
  • Clean raw materials and finished parts using cleaning solutions (such as Isopropyl Alcohol and/or water), air hoses, and cloths.
  • Pick heater pads to expose area to solder/weld.
  • Prepare PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) application and the bladder press for PSA.
  • Tape heaters on boards for potting/conformal coating.
  • Cover leads-potting, conformal coating, under cover with patches, or doghouse.
  • String heaters and terminate leads with copper crimps.
  • Operate Spartanics and die clicker machines.
  • Cut required materials
  • Keep work area clean and organized: sweep, mop, wipe, and put items in proper place.
