About The Position

Originally founded in Silicon Valley in 1952, we are humbled by the long-term relationships earned through the packaging solutions we offer, including design, engineering, testing, manufacturing, and fulfillment of custom and stock packaging. Using your strong teamwork skills, you will safely and efficiently build wood crates using blueprints (cut sheets) and power tools to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery. You will log in and out of jobs in the Ops Center (Production software planning system) to track jobs and follow production schedules. You’ll also follow safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Requirements

3 months of experience in carpentry, construction and/or landscaping.
Use of dimensional and electrical power tools and motorized equipment.
Basic computer skills to use Ops Center to log in & out of jobs with employee ID number.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Forklift experience

Responsibilities

Builds various sized wood crates while safely using power tools (nail and staple guns, power drills, grinders, and hammers).
Uses tape measure to ensure measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8th inch.
Performs safe ladder use when assembling the tops (caps) of crates.
Assembles bases or skids for crates on the ground, which requires use of a 20-pound, 3.5-inch nail gun while crouching and/or kneeling.
Reads, interprets, finds, and documents possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors.
Uses adhesives to apply foam to wood crates and conducts specification checks.
Efficiently performs work according to standard operating procedures.
Follows all procedures, policies and understands equipment use before use.
Reports equipment defects and/or maintenance needs to supervisor.
Reports any unsafe acts to supervisor.
