About The Position

American Van Equipment in Lakewood, NJ has an Assembler Warehouse Supervisor position available. This person is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse assembly operations, supervising production and warehouse personnel, coordinating workflow, and ensuring that products are assembled accurately, safely, and on schedule. This position requires extensive forklift experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment while meeting production and shipping deadlines. Bi-lingual is preferred.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse and assembly experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Current forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and assembly processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and foster a positive team environment.
  • Forklift certification and experience.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and proper material storage.
  • Enforce all OSHA regulations and company safety policies, including forklift safety practices.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Production Planning, Customer Service, and Shipping departments to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Monitor employee productivity and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain production and inventory records using warehouse management or ERP systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
