Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Lathe work, grinding, drilling, fitting and pressing operation, ability to read and use micrometers, and gauges; knowledge of parts, must work well with others.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years Trade School or experience in industrial machining.

Responsibilities

• Check drive card for special instructions.
• Check gear serial numbers, model and ratio to ensure they meet drive card specifications.
• Check ground surfaces on shafts for damage to critical areas.
• Assemble and set bearings and gears to specifications, mounting distances and backlash.
• Check position of oil line to spiral bevel gears.
• Inspect and ensure assembly is complete.
• Documentation – gear MD’s, spacer lengths, gear serial numbers, bearing settings, heat numbers (if applicable) are recorded onto drive card.
• Paperwork forwarded and filed as necessary.
