About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Assembler Team Lead to join the Wing Buildup Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift. This position involves performing complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using manual or automated tools. The role requires building effective resource plans, assigning daily work, identifying and communicating risks, updating and communicating BPS metrics, leading daily safety check-ins, and monitoring daily progress to plan. The Assembler Team Lead will work with support organizations and the First Line Leader to mitigate performance risks, document and communicate shift turnover, establish overtime requirements and staffing, monitor and control 5S workplace organization, and use Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) to address issues. Additionally, the role involves creating and monitoring standardized work instructions, supporting teammates to improve job performance and identifying training needs, driving BPS process improvements, and leading the team to excel in daily performance aligned with organizational vision, goals, and objectives. The Team Lead is expected to follow team leader standard work, respond immediately to team member issues, facilitate daily plan and performance reviews, ensure team members understand key performance indicators, align team efforts with strategic goals (safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and people), and coach team members on standardized work. The role also includes monitoring LSCC progress, identifying roadblocks, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement, and assisting in defect elimination. Maintaining Fall Protection Certification is required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing processes and procedures
  • 1+ year of experience with the operations process involving the 787 program
  • 1+ years of formal or informal leadership experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • 1+ years of experience in aircraft systems installations
  • 1+ years of experience with Velocity, REDARS, SAT, and BAC specifications
  • Ability to pass and complete fall protection training

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members understand key performance indicators and embrace goals
  • Align team efforts with strategic goals including safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and people
  • Coach team members on standardized work from onboarding through daily utilization
  • Monitor LSCC progress and problem screens
  • Identify roadblocks inhibiting progress and seek leadership support as needed
  • Encourage and lead a culture of continuous improvement and systematic problem solving
  • Assist in elimination defect through systematic problem solving and coordination with upstream processes
  • Maintain Fall Protection Certification
