About The Position

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a highly experienced Solder Assembler with expertise in surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering. This role supports high-mix, low-volume production of critical aerospace and defense electronics, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality. The candidate will be proficient in reworking and repairing a wide range of components (SMT, PTH, Bottom-terminated), work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools. Responsibilities include conducting quality inspections, disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications. The operator will also work with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment and identify solder defects on CCAs (circuit card assemblies).

Requirements

3 or more years solder experience
Experience as a previously certified to IPC-A-610 & J-STD
Familiar and able to use a microscope daily
Manufacturing knowledge
Adept at using hand tools
Proficiently read technical drawings to ensure an accurate and efficient assembly processes

Nice To Haves

Inspection experience a plus
Through hole and surface mount soldering
Past or present IPC-7711/7721 Certification

Responsibilities

Reworking and repairing a wide range of components (SMT, PTH, Bottom-terminated)
Working from diagrams and drawings
Making initial layouts
Using hand and/or power tools
Conducting quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications
Disassembling, modifying, reworking, reassembling, and testing production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications
Reading and comprehending assembly parts lists, assembly drawings and any related reference documentation
Building in accordance with IPC-610 (and other) quality standards
Troubleshooting of process parameters to improve yield
Working with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment
Identifying solder defects on CCAs (circuit card assemblies)
