Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Desirable Mechanical aptitude and experience with a general understanding of basic mechanics and power hand tools use.
  • Woodworking or wood assembly is desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge and training on overhead crane operation is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and or some engineering background is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings.
  • Understand how to work with assembly jigs
  • Familiar with pneumatics and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

  • Has general knowledge and understanding of woodworking tools and assembly
  • Possesses knowledge of power hand tools, clamping methods, and related hardware for installation.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by lifting, bending, and kneeling multiple times per day, working overhead from a kneeling or laying position, and will require the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.
  • Documents labor hours to work order operations electronically or on written production labor log, completes production and quality forms, reports any discrepancies with work order material BOMS
  • Participates in team continuous improvement projects, tracking required metrics and participation in daily meetings.
  • Knowledge of operating and lifting objects with overhead cranes utilizing slings, straps, or other devices.
  • Reads and interprets assembly drawings, blueprints, layout drawings, and electrical prints.
  • Knowledge of measuring with micrometers, feeler gauges, and understanding of tolerances on assembly prints
  • The incumbent actively considers all interests of quality, accident prevention, and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, materials, and the environment.
  • The incumbent is obliged to perform tasks requested by management that relate to his position scope or arise from company needs including OT and weekends when needed.
  • Work in this position is mainly at the Kent assembly areas.
  • All company safety policies must always be followed and required PPE for respective work areas must be worn without exception.
  • The job requirements require the incumbent to be in good physical shape with the ability to do heavy lifting.
  • Considerable forklift work with movement to and from the truck quite often.
  • Use of forklift seatbelt is mandatory.
  • The employee will be required to know forklift operation and will be required to complete a forklift training course on-site once hired.
