Requirements

  • Associates degree from a two year college in related field and three years of related experience and/or training; or five years equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess an intermediate level of understanding of theory of electronics and electronic parts; must have ability to read prints; must have experience or training in soldering.
  • Ability to: read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization; add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; perform these operations using units weight measurement, volume, and distance; apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex assembly to products, circuit boards, cables, and/or starters from work orders, sample assemblies, verbal instruction, or blueprints.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Performs assembly for special customer orders.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware to assemblies.
  • Mounts assembled components.
  • Assembles modules and other items as needed for repairs.
  • Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified characteristics.
  • Finishes all modules involving packaging, labeling, coating, etc., as necessary.
  • May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.
  • Assists Level I and II Assemblers with more complicated assemblies.
  • Connects wires to specified terminals following diagrams, wire lists, and color codes.
  • Solders and bolts components in specified location on assembly.
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, and technical orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations.
  • Dismantles equipment and replaces worn or defective parts to repair malfunctioning equipment.
  • Tests assembled equipment to locate defects, using functional test instruments.
  • May be required to operate and train entry level employees on powered industrial vehicle operation.
  • Continually improves processes; quantitatively monitors processes. Completes required quality core classes and uses skills and techniques presented. Uses The Core Values in work environment. Adheres to company/customer safety procedures.
