About The Position

Build the Machines Behind High-Speed Manufacturing Innovation Hands-on role building and improving high-speed production equipment for food & beverage ends. You’ll work with advanced tooling and automation systems in a fast-paced environment, partnering with engineers to bring new manufacturing technology to life. What You’ll Do Assemble, troubleshoot, and optimize high-speed production equipment Read mechanical drawings, BOMs, models, and GD&T to build and validate tooling systems Set up complex tooling assemblies from engineering prints and specifications Support new builds, retrofits, rebuilds, and tooling/die refurbishment Inspect, measure, and document tooling for quality, accuracy, and design intent Support R&D: prototype builds, sample runs, production testing, and validation Innovation & Engineering Support Partner with Engineering, R&D, and Commercial teams on new product development Provide feedback to improve machine performance and design Support root cause analysis for test and field issues Assist with proof-of-concept builds and innovation trials Collaboration & Field Support Communicate project status, timelines, and issues across teams Work cross-functionally with engineering and service teams Support occasional customer-facing troubleshooting (~5% travel) Represent DRT professionally in plant and customer environments Skills & Tools Read wiring diagrams and perform basic wiring Strong mechanical aptitude and precision assembly experience ERP system navigation (BOMs, revisions, part tracking) Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Use precision measurement and inspection tools Work Mix ~80% assembly, build, and tooling setup ~20% R&D and innovation support (varies by demand) Education & Experience

Requirements

  • Read wiring diagrams and perform basic wiring
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and precision assembly experience
  • ERP system navigation (BOMs, revisions, part tracking)
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Use precision measurement and inspection tools
  • 5+ years in industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or precision equipment environments
  • Experience with system builds, retrofits, and troubleshooting required
  • Strong mechanical assembly skills with ability to read prints, BOMs, and GD&T
  • Experience with tooling systems, precision measurement, and equipment setup
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and support basic electrical integration
  • ERP system experience (BOMs, revisions, part tracking)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
  • High accountability and ownership of work
  • Detail-oriented with strong focus on quality and precision
  • Effective communicator across engineering, production, and leadership teams
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field preferred
  • Equivalent hands-on manufacturing, automation, or controls experience considered
  • Experience with high-speed production equipment, tooling systems, or automated machinery
  • Exposure to R&D, prototype builds, or equipment testing preferred
  • Basic electrical controls or wiring experience strongly preferred
  • Willingness to travel for installation or field support (~5%)
