About The Position

The Assembler / Materials Control Specialist is a key member of the Tourmaline Enterprises Operations team and plays a central role in assembly, materials control, receiving support, and inventory accuracy. This position is responsible for the hands-on preparation, configuration, labeling, packaging, and movement of products used for customer orders, technical repairs, and sales demonstration needs. The role also serves as a primary point of accountability for inventory transactions, including checking inventory in and out, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring company tools and materials used for onsite repairs are tracked and returned appropriately. This position works cross-functionally with the Operations Manager, Customer Service department, Assembly/Shipping team, and Sales team to support timely order fulfillment, inventory visibility, and operational consistency. The individual in this role is expected to understand and effectively use SOS shipping software, support shipping and receiving workflows, perform weekly stock counts, and deliver weekly inventory reporting to management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, assembly, or materials management preferred.
  • Experience using inventory, shipping, or warehouse software systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in inventory, shipping, and documentation tasks.
  • Ability to learn product programming, labeling equipment, and operational systems with training.
  • Working knowledge of inventory tracking, stock control, and materials accountability practices.
  • Ability to understand and manage shipping, receiving, and inventory processes using SOS shipping software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort using operational systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in supply chain, business, electronics technology, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure, label, and prepare inkjet technology products for shipment, repair activity, and sales demonstration requests.
  • Follow company procedures for product programming, kitting, packaging, and quality checks prior to release.
  • Ensure products are prepared accurately in accordance with internal standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain day-to-day accountability for company inventory, including finished goods, parts, packaging materials, consumables, and tools.
  • Check inventory in and out accurately for order fulfillment, technical repairs, internal use, and onsite repair activity.
  • Track tools, parts, and company stock issued for onsite service or repair work and ensure proper return, reconciliation, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in company systems and report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or variances promptly to the Operations Manager.
  • Perform weekly stock counts and support broader cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory activities.
  • Deliver weekly inventory reports detailing stock levels, count results, discrepancies, and replenishment needs.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations to ensure inbound and outbound materials are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against packing lists, order documentation, and shipping requirements prior to release.
  • Learn, understand, and utilize the full scope of SOS shipping software for shipping transactions, receiving activity, inventory movement, and order support.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records in SOS and related company systems.
  • Support domestic and international shipping requirements, including compliance with documentation and shipment procedures.
  • Create, document, and help maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, and inventory control processes.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to align inventory availability with operational priorities and fulfillment schedules.
  • Partner with the Customer Service department to support order readiness, shipment timing, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with the Assembly team to ensure product availability, staging, and readiness for fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to support customer orders, demo requests, and inventory allocation needs.
  • Communicate inventory concerns, order delays, and material shortages proactively to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in warehouse and assembly areas.
  • Follow all company safety, security, and operational procedures.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, inventory accuracy, and department organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
